Personal Data Protection
Effective Date: 14 May 2026
1. Definition of Personal Data
For the purposes of this Contract, “Personal Data” shall have the meaning ascribed to it under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) and refers to any data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified either directly from that data or indirectly from that data together with other information to which the School has or is likely to have access.
2. Collection, Use and Consent
The School collects, uses and discloses Personal Data that is voluntarily provided by the Student, Parents or Legal Guardians, or authorized representatives, or which is otherwise lawfully obtained in the course of the School’s operations.
Consent for the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Data is typically obtained upon submission of an application for admission, acceptance of an offer of enrolment, and for the purpose of performing and administering this Contract and related school policies.
These Terms and Conditions and associated school documents constitute the primary basis for informed consent. Execution of this Contract shall constitute consent for the School to collect, use and disclose Personal Data for the purposes set out herein, except where additional consent is required under applicable law.
Consent for marketing, communications, surveys and market research purposes is voluntary and optional. Refusal or withdrawal of such consent will not affect the Student’s enrolment, education or access to core school services.
3. Types of Personal Data
Subject to applicable law, the School may collect, use and disclose Personal Data including personal particulars, identification and immigration documents, contact details, demographic information, medical and health details, academic and attendance records, photographs, audio or video recordings, CCTV footage, and legal or custody-related documents.
4. Legal Basis for Collection and Use
The School may collect, use or disclose Personal Data where consent has been given, where required or authorised by law, where necessary for safeguarding or regulatory compliance, or where it is reasonably necessary for the School’s legitimate operational, administrative, safeguarding or educational improvement purposes and does not override the interests or rights of the individual.
5. Purposes of Collection and Use
Personal Data may be collected, used and disclosed for admissions, enrolment, education delivery, student and parent relationship management, safeguarding, operational administration, regulatory compliance and record‑keeping purposes.
5a. Marketing and Market Research (Parents / Legal Guardians)
Subject to the consent of Parents or Legal Guardians, the School may use their personal data (such as names, contact details and feedback, but excluding students’ academic, medical or behavioral records) for marketing, communications, surveys and market research purposes, including to evaluate and improve school program, services and engagement activities.
Students’ personal data shall not be used for marketing or promotional purposes unless required by law or with separate, explicit parental consent.
6. Disclosure to Third Parties
The School may disclose Personal Data on a need‑to‑know basis to third‑party service providers, including IT systems providers, admissions service partners, finance and payment processors, communications vendors, medical or transport providers, security services, and marketing or market research agencies engaged to act on the School’s behalf. Such third parties shall process Personal Data solely in accordance with the School’s instructions and shall be subject to appropriate data protection and confidentiality obligations.
7. Consent on Behalf of the Student
Consent provided by Parents or Legal Guardians on behalf of the Student shall apply only to purposes reasonably required for the Student’s education, care, safeguarding and school administration.
8. Accuracy, Protection and Retention
The School shall take reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Data is accurate, protected through appropriate safeguards, and retained only for as long as necessary for legal or operational purposes.
9. Transfer of Personal Data Outside Singapore
Where Personal Data is transferred outside Singapore, the School shall ensure that such transfers comply with the PDPA and that appropriate safeguards are in place.
10. Access, Correction and Withdrawal of Consent
Parents, Legal Guardians or Students may request access to or correction of Personal Data or withdraw consent by contacting the School’s Data Protection Officer. Withdrawal of consent may affect the School’s ability to continue providing education or related services where such Personal Data is reasonably required.
11. Data Protection Incidents
The School shall manage data protection incidents in accordance with the PDPA and applicable regulatory guidelines.
12. Do Not Call Provisions
The School complies with the PDPA Do Not Call provisions. Marketing communications via voice calls, text messages or similar means will only be sent where valid consent has been obtained. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
